Our yearly 'token' snowstorm

Blizzard Warning

School Closed

Snow piled up to the top of the mail box

Two feet and still coming down

Sledding

Snow Caves

Snowball fights

(Okay, that was the news from the cousins in Idaho today.  Us?  Oh, just a skiff...)

Sooo, she was a little disappointed that all the snow hype wasn't what it was cracked up to be.
I can't say I blame her all that much.
I sometimes suffer from snow inadequacy syndrome myself.

However, the kids still had a ball.  Hot cocoa was still made (with little snowman marshmallows.)
Surprised again that none of the kids lost any of their digits to frostbite.
And the world seemed to slow down a whole lot.
Just the way it should be.

Hopefully, we may get more this year, but at least I know that we won't be waking up to snow for the next six months. So, I'm happy with our little skiff.

Watch Out Ladies...

My little boy is about to hit the dance floor at his first Stake Dance...

   No, really
                                                                 he just left....

He should be there in about 45 minutes.

This week's spectacular finds...

So, we headed to Tanger Outlet (aka the 'Beach') again this week. Some may say that I go there a little too often, but as a stay-at-home Mom I consider it my JOB to try and economize as well as possible.  My philosophy is to buy when it's on sale rather than at full price when they absolutely need it.
Thanks to Sara (who pointed out the obscure $1.99 rack at Children's Place) I was able to get Ainsley's winter coat this year for only $1.25!!!

Also, with a Tanger promotion they were running I scored two extremely nice Columbia shirts for my man at a  mere $7.70 a piece.  Without the coupon they would have been $19.95 each on sale (reg. price being $39.90 ea.).

At Children's Place I paid no more than $3.14 per item and as low as $.62.

With the latest this week from Bloomberg News http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-16/gap-wal-mart-clothing-suppliers-raise-prices-on-terrifying-cotton-costs.html about clothing prices rising by 30% in the spring, I don't feel so irrational about stocking up.

Idaho.  When one grows up in such a place, one can easily miss the beauty of it.  Beautiful wouldn't necessarily have been my first choice to describe Eastern Idaho, but having visited there a couple weeks ago I have to admit it was quite the picturesque place with all of the fall color.

There we were among the willow trees, along the peaceful river...with brides-to-be and picture perfect families all capturing the last of the fall color with their professional photographers in tow.  As I was posing my wonderful son, (yes I'm talking about Colin), for a few photos he announces he has to go potty.  "Just a minute" I say having turned around to scout out my next shot - only to turn back to see a little guy, with trousers dropped, taking a pee.  Oh what memories those brides-to-be and families will have with a wild nature fountain shot in their beautiful photos!

Tara's super cute Kidlets!

We stopped on the way home at Multnomah Falls.  Nice pictures, but big mistake.  Thought it would be nice to show Colin the waterfall, only to have him screaming and crying all the way back to the car because we wouldn't take him to the very top.
